Breanne Houston speaks with honesty, compassion, and deep conviction about the sanctity of life because she has lived the reality of abortion, regret, redemption, and God’s extraordinary restoration. At 18 years old, as a freshman in college, Breanne found herself pregnant, afraid, and convinced that abortion was her only option. At her consultation, she was shown an ultrasound zoomed out so far that her eight-week-old baby appeared only as a tiny “dot.” Believing what she was told—that it was “just a speck” and that this was an “easy fix”—she moved forward with the abortion. Immediately afterward, she felt profound grief, regret, and loneliness, emotions that followed her for years.
Although she came to know Jesus later through the faithful witness of her future husband, the shame of her abortion lingered. It wasn’t until years later—after having two children and seeing the ultrasound of her second son at the same gestational age as the baby she lost—that the full weight of what she had done came crashing down. That moment became a turning point, beginning a season of deep grief, healing, and ultimately, transformation. Through the Forgiven and Set Free Bible study, Breanne experienced the freedom of truly understanding that in Christ there is no condemnation and that God redeems even our deepest wounds.
Twenty-two years after her abortion, God led Breanne to serve at Life Choices Medical Center in East Tennessee. One day, she met a young woman whose story closely mirrored her own. This woman was abortion-determined and even had abortion pills at home, but through hearing Breanne’s story and experiencing the compassion of the center, she chose life for her baby. Breanne describes this moment as one of the clearest revelations of God’s purpose in her pain: “My story and pain was one she needed to hear to choose life.”
Since then, Breanne has walked with many women and families through pregnancy decisions, spiritual questions, and life-changing moments—including witnessing a couple renounce occult practices and accept Christ during a counseling session at the center. She marvels at how often God gives her the words she needs right when she needs them.
Today, Breanne serves as the Director of Advancement at Life Choices Medical Center and leads the Sanctity of Life Group at her church, First Baptist Concord. She speaks to churches, youth groups, schools, and community organizations about abortion, post-abortion healing, abortion pill reversal, and the redemptive power of the gospel. Her message is simple yet powerful: God uses broken people, healed people, redeemed people—and He wastes nothing. Not even our deepest wounds.
Breanne’s life is a testimony to the God who brings beauty from ashes, joy from mourning, and purpose from pain. She believes every life has value, every woman deserves compassion, and every story—no matter how broken—can be used by God to save another.
